Tests of the modernized Yak-52 with a Ukrainian engine have started in Zaporizhia
In Zaporozhye they are testing the modernization of the Yak-52 training aircraft from Motor-Sich.

The modernization was named UTL-450 and is equipped with a domestic turboprop engine AI-450C with a 5-blade propeller MTV-5, as well as a number of other new systems.
The modernization of the aircraft ensures the performance of flights in different weather conditions and time of day, in the conditions of the north and hot climate in compliance with the general technical requirements for light training aircraft.

Weight of empty aircraft: 900 kg
Maximum take-off weight: 1315/1500 kg (aerobatic / multi-purpose category)
Maximum speed of horizontal flight: 350 km / h
Maximum flight range with 10% fuel reserve: 650 km
Maximum flight range with additional fuel: 2890 km
Practical ceiling: 9000 m

It will be recalled that in 2017, tests of the modified An-2-100 aircraft took place, which is a modern modification of the famous Antonov An-2 light biplane. Motor-Sich also took part in the modernization works. In 2018, after all the tests, the aircraft received the required certificate.
