Ukraine exported grain to Saudi Arabia for the first time
The state buyer of grain in Saudi Arabia SAGO announced the purchase of 60 thousand tons of Ukrainian wheat. This is the company's first purchase abroad, aimed at improving the country's food security.
with reference to the "Mirror of the Week".
Ukrainian wheat was purchased at $ 248 per tonne after the kingdom asked private investors from Saudi Arabia who own farmland abroad on April 6 to provide about 10 percent of local needs a year. Wheat from Ukraine should arrive in September.
Saudi Arabia typically imports wheat from the United States, South America, Australia and Europe. However, last year SAGO lowered its claims for wheat damage, which allowed it to increase grain imports from the Black Sea region.
