Ukrainian radar 90K6E has been tested for a foreign customer

The mobile survey 3D radar from KP Iskra was tested for UAV detection.

  with reference to Defense Express.

Radar 90K6E manufactured by KP NVK Iskra, which is part of Ukroboronprom, successfully passed two-day tests to detect unmanned aerial vehicles at different altitudes and maximum range.

As Yuriy Pashchenko, Director of the Iskra Research and Production Complex, noted: “After conducting factory tests, we have successfully completed this last stage of testing the 90K6E radar for the ability to determine small targets with a small effective scattering surface. The positive results of these tests open before us unquestionable prospects for the sale of 90K6E for export. We already have a potential customer from one of the Middle East countries, for whom the ability to identify unmanned aerial vehicles is one of the main requirements. The station is also being considered in the interests of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, but it needs some changes to meet the needs of our military. "

The object of determination during radar tests was the unmanned aerial vehicle Raybird 3, which was operated by Skyeton specialists. Raybird 3 is a serial unmanned aerial vehicle of the “small tactical” class, which is used for various long-term missions, ISTAR solutions and search and rescue operations; has a maximum flight altitude of 3000 m and can develop a speed of up to 160 km / h.

"We are grateful to Skyeton Aviation Production Company for the opportunity and to the specialists of the Specialized Foreign Trade Company PROGRESS for their assistance in organizing and conducting the tests," Yuriy Pashchenko added.

In fact, tests 90K6E to detect UAVs were timely. In early April, in a comment to Defense Express, Yuriy Pashchenko, director of Iskra, stated that they should take place "at the end of April 2020, unless there is a change in the situation through COVID-19."

It will be recalled that the 90K6E station was presented for the first time within the framework of the International Exhibition "Weapons and Security-2019". This is a mobile 3D circular radar with a transistor transmitter, which is designed to detect targets flying at low, medium and high altitudes. The radar is designed for use in anti-aircraft missile forces, as a means of issuing targets, as well as an information link in the air force and air defense.

The maximum range of the radar at a range of 500 km. The number of simultaneously monitored targets is more than 500. Deployment time 15-20 minutes.

Also, according to Pashchenko, a highly mobile radar of the meter range of MR-1 radio waves and a counter-battery radar complex 1L220UK took part in the tests. Tests of these radars were carried out according to the agreed program and also gave full confirmation of the declared characteristics for the determination of UAVs.
