For the first time, Zaporizhkoks started shipping its products by river transport

This year, Zaporizhkoks started shipping granulated pitch to consumers from Turkey by river transport. The volume of products transported in this way during the year amounted to 6,500 tons.

Transportation of pitch by river transport allows Zaporizhkoks to reduce logistics costs and increase the speed of product delivery to consumers. The products are loaded at the Zaporizhia river port, after which the vessel arrives at the Turkish port, from where the plant's products will be delivered directly to the consumer. Previously, the delivery of pitch was carried out through the seaports of Ukraine, where the products were transported by rail.

We intend to increase the cargo turnover of our products through the river port in 2021 to strengthen the competitive position of our company and expand the consumer base of granulated pitch abroad, - said CEO of "Zaporizhkoks" Alexander Tretyakov.

It will be recalled that Zaporizhkoks launched a new electrode pitch granulation line in 2019. Granular electrode pitch is used for the production of electrode masses used in non-ferrous metallurgy.
