SAM "Dnipro"

 SAM "Dnipro"

 Over the past three years, the Ukrainian defense industry has made great strides - a large number of different types of weapons have been modernized, and new ones have appeared that will be adopted or will be adopted in the near future.

One of the new models of armament is the medium-range Dnipro anti-aircraft missile system, which has been under development since 2012. Initially, it was intended for installation on promising corvettes of the 58250 project and only in 2014 began to be developed as an army version.

According to the military, the new complex is capable of destroying aircraft and helicopters of all types, unmanned aerial vehicles and cruise missiles at medium and short distances. Despite the fact that the whole complex can be shot down at any time of the day, even in difficult weather conditions and with active information, fire and maneuvering resistance of the enemy.

SAM "Dnipro" is a product of cooperation of a number of enterprises: missiles developed by Kyiv State Committee "Luch", guidance heads for them - Lviv SE LNDRTI, multifunctional radar guidance missile station - Zaporozhye NVK "Iskra", and combat control point - A MLT ».

The Dnipro SAM includes a combat control point, a multifunctional radar 1L220U, as well as launchers. The base for them are armored vehicles KrAZ-6322. It should be noted that the multifunctional radar station is designed by the technology of active phased array antennas and provides a target detection range of 150 km.

SAM "Dnipro" can simultaneously use 12 guided missiles ZR-27 for six purposes. The anti-aircraft missiles used in the complex are developed on the basis of the R-27 air-to-air missile, two modifications: with command telecontrol on the initial and middle sections of the trajectory and active homing on the final section and with radio correction of guidance on the initial and middle sections and active homing at the end site.

There is no open data on the stage of the Dnipro SAM, but there is an assumption that the complex is the basis for the Polish-Ukrainian Narew SAM, which was officially proposed to the Polish Ministry of National Defense in 2017.

Tactical and technical characteristics of SAM "Dnipro":

    Maximum tactical fighter target detection range, km:

- at an altitude of 7 km - not less than 150;
- at an altitude of 0.15 km - not less than 50;
- at an altitude of 0.02 km - not less than 28;

    Range of steady support of a tactical fighter - 120 km;
    The minimum height of the target - 0.015 km;
    The maximum height of the target - 25 km;
    Time of readiness (inclusion) of the complex for combat operations - no more than 4 minutes.
