The Ministry of Defense will order three new An-178 transport planes from Antonov. This will be the first such order since the days of independent Ukraine, Minister of Strategic Industries Oleh Urusky told Radio Svoboda.

"We have never ordered new planes. I hope that such a significant event will take place this year, "the official said.

Urusky also hopes that due to this order, as well as the repair of armored vehicles and the purchase of artillery systems will be able to fulfill the state defense order 2020 (they say, now "there are problems with its implementation").

Earlier we wrote that this year Antonov resumed mass production of aircraft without Russian parts - because there all the parts were able to find a replacement.
