 Ukrainian industrial company Interpipe has made the first delivery of passenger railway wheels for high-speed trains of the German railway operator Deutsche Bahn.

“This is an extremely important order and an excellent opportunity to be included in the list of companies-suppliers for high-speed passenger transport. In the European market, such products are subject to very strict requirements, and, as a rule, car-building and car-repair companies prefer already tested suppliers. The successful fulfillment of this order for Deutsche Bahn opens new prospects for the Interpipe railway division, commented Oleksandr Harkovy, Director of the Interpipe Railway Products Division.

It is specified that the specialists of the Ukrainian company have developed all the production technology independently - from the design of the structure and chemical composition to the finished wheel.

It is also reported that Interpipe has been cooperating with Deutsche Bahn for a long time, but the passenger wheels for high-speed trains are being supplied to the German concern for the first time.

“The company is one of the leaders in the European market in the segment of railway wheels for freight cars. Two out of three freight cars in Europe are with our wheels. In addition, "Interpipe" has already supplied wheel products for passenger suburban transport, "- explained in the press service of the Ukrainian manufacturer.

They added that passenger railway wheels for high-speed trains are a high-precision complex product. To reduce the load on the rails from friction with the wheels, there are strict requirements for their ductility, as well as for strength and construction in terms of geometric parameters: they must have holes in the disk and the clean bore of the hub.
