Vinnytsia will receive 35 free trams from Switzerland

 

 Vinnytsia will receive 35 Tram2000 trams from Zurich free of charge. In total, Switzerland is ready to transfer 70 trams of this model to the city.
with reference to the press service of Vinnytsia City Council.

According to the agreement, the first batch of 35 trams will start arriving in 2022. The decision to transfer the second batch of Tram2000 cars will be made after assessing the effectiveness of the implementation of Part 1 of the new Agreement. Tram2000 series trams were manufactured in the late 1980s in Switzerland, underwent regular overhauls in accordance with Swiss standards and are in good working order.

We will remind that during 2006-2011 Vinnytsia already received 116 cars from Zurich. The current model is more modern - cars are equipped with an electronic engine management system, more economical in terms of electricity consumption, have a smoother ride. The agreement also provides for the provision of spare parts, materials, equipment, consulting services and assistance in building institutional capacity.
