The official commissioning ceremony of the new 750 kV overhead line Zaporizhzhya NPP - Kakhovskaya substation with a length of 186 km took place on the site of Zaporizhzhya NPP. The line opens the possibility for ZNPP to operate at a full installed capacity of 6,000 MW.

The implementation of this large-scale investment project became possible thanks to the joint efforts of NNEGC Energoatom and NEC Ukrenergo. The new transmission line will significantly improve the quality of electricity supply for residents and industrial enterprises of Kherson and Odessa regions, as well as free up the "closed" capacity of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, removing all restrictions.
From now on, all six power units of Zaporizhzhya NPP will be able to operate at full capacity. This will increase the reliability of energy supply in the southern part of the Unified Power System of Ukraine, as the transit of electricity will be carried out directly from the generation source. In addition, the 750 kV overhead line Zaporizhzhya NPP - Kakhovska substation will create opportunities for maneuver without reducing power, and in the future this transmission line will be important in synchronizing the Ukrainian power system with the European one.
