 The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine made the first procurement through the NATO Support and Supply Agency.

with reference to UMP.

The day before, the first successful purchase through the Agency took place without the participation of intermediaries.

The first purchase for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was the purchase of a caterpillar belt for infantry fighting vehicles BMP-1 and BMP-2.

Independent access to international markets will save a lot of money on procurement and avoid most of the corruption risks that are present when the defense agency is forced to use the services of intermediary companies.

It is noteworthy that in Ukraine several times reported the successful development of the production of caterpillar tracks for infantry fighting vehicles, first announced the development of the Kharkiv State Aviation Enterprise, and later - Zhytomyr Armored and Plant. Malisheva.

Moreover, the press service of Ukroboronprom reported twice on the development of production - in February 2019 and August 2020.

However, apparently the Ministry of Defense turned to international procurement, which probably turned out to be cheaper.
