A new hydraulic unit has started operating at the Dniester PSP

 

 As part of the construction of the second stage of construction of the Dniester PSP, Ukrhydroenergo carried out start-up operations on the №4 hydraulic unit.

The management of PJSC Ukrhydroenergo considers the start-up operations on the 4th hydraulic unit to be a significant event, as the company has fulfilled all its commitments in the current year. The start-up of the unit is the result of 4 years of hard work of Ukrhydroenergo specialists and engineers. The commissioning of the №4 hydraulic unit is scheduled for the summer of 2021.

It will be recalled that preparatory work for the construction of the Dniester PSP began in 1983. At present, three hydraulic units with a total capacity of 972 MW in generator mode and 1263 MW in pumping mode have been put into operation at PSP. The fourth unit will have a capacity of 324 MW in generator mode and 421 MW in pump mode. A total of 7 hydropower units with a total capacity of 2,268 MW in generator mode and 2,947 MW in pumping mode will be installed at the Dniester PSP, after which it will become the largest PSP in Europe and the sixth largest hydropower project in the world.
