How to delete an account in Viber and all your data from the messenger (instructions)

 Instructions for deleting an account in the popular Viber messenger.

Let's start with the fact that you cannot leave Viber through the desktop version. The only option available on the desktop is to uninstall the client itself. You can do this by going to your account settings. and then the Privacy & Security tab.

Deleting a customer will not affect your account in any way. You just get rid of Viber on your computer. The mobile application will work as before.

To stop this, go to Viber on your smartphone, go to the "Account" -> "Disable account" tab. On the screen that appears, enter your phone number and click on the "Disconnect Account" button.

What is the difference between deleting Viber and disconnecting an account

When deleting Viber:

    The application is removed from your smartphone or computer.
    The history of your messages and calls is erased.
    Your account will not be deleted. If you download and activate Viber with the same phone number, the basic account information will be restored (name, profile and associated accounts).

When disconnecting an account:

    Your data will be deleted (name, registration information, etc.)
    All information from linked social media profiles (eg Facebook) will be deleted.
    Your contact list will be removed from Viber servers.
    Any sticker packs you purchased will be deleted.
    Disconnecting your Viber account will not delete your chat history if you have saved it to external storage in iCloud or Google Drive). To delete the chat history, you need to go to the application settings and delete the backup file manually (the "Backup" tab).
