Ukraine may soon sign an agreement on French Alstom locomotives

 

 Ukraine is preparing for the visit of French President Emmanuel Macron, during which a contract with Alstom is likely to be signed.

This is a contract with Alstom and the Government of Ukraine for the supply of electric locomotives, which also provide for the localization of their production in Ukraine. It is noted that the agreement between Ukrzaliznytsia and Alstom will be two-stage: the first stage provides for the receipt of 50 electric locomotives, the second - up to 80.

In addition, the Government hopes that the issue of expanding cooperation with Alstom in the field of construction of high-speed railways between Kyiv and Lviv, Kyiv and Odessa will also be considered.
