Motor Sich has signed a contract for the supply of AI-322 aircraft engines for the needs of the Air Force of the People's Republic of China.
This was reported by the Defense Express news agency, citing its own sources. Transmitted by the National Industrial Port with reference to the UMP.
It is reported that 400 AI-322 engines will cost the Chinese side $ 800 million.
The turbofan engine is designed for training and combat aircraft Hongdu L-15.
The last batch was delivered in 2019 - the Chinese side received 45 AI-322 engines and 22 AI-25TLK engines.
At the same time, the importer of AI-322 was the state airline of the People's Republic of China AVIC - each engine cost 1.87 million dollars.
The list of supplies also includes components for engines manufactured by Motor Sich, and already repaired motors.
The AI-322F aircraft engine is designed specifically for L-15 training and combat aircraft.
The design is based on the AI-222K-25F unit (with afterburner chamber).
