Ukraine is preparing a science park project for innovative entrepreneurship and commercialization of developments

 Academ.City Science Park will create an environment for innovative entrepreneurship and commercialization of scientific developments.

Academician Anatoliy Zagorodniy, the President of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, spoke about this initiative at an online briefing for media representatives, the National Industrial Portal reports with reference to the press service of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

"The idea of ​​creating a scientific park" Academ.City "arose at the Kiev Academic University. She was interested in the German Ministry of Education and Science, which agreed to evaluate the effectiveness of the park, and the pilot project should have been completed, but affected COVID-19, slightly delaying the final decision. And the preliminary conclusion is positive. Now everything depends not on Germany, but on ourselves, on the good will of the institutes to make their contribution to this park, on how actively the institutes located in Akademgorodok are ready to join it. And not only in Akademgorodok, because this site will be open to all academic institutions - at their request.

The concept of the park is that it is an innovative environment. It may include small companies (startups, spin-offs), departments of institutes. The task is that the developments of the institutes do not lie on the table, in the drawer, but that there are enterprising people who would undertake to promote these developments on the market. Well, Academ.City Park, like any science park, could provide organizational and, to some extent, material support.

Of course, the support of the Kyiv City State Administration is very important. This issue has now begun to be discussed with her. It is planned to sign a memorandum on the possibility of creating a science park. The organizational issue, of course, is very difficult, but we want to implement it. We want such a park to be born, ”said Academician Anatoliy Zagorodniy, President of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
