Permits for the export of Ukrainian weapons will be issued by the electronic system
Ukroboronprom CEO Yuriy Gusev and Oleksandr Pavlichenko, Head of the State Export Control Service of Ukraine (SECU), discussed ways to increase the supply of Ukrainian weapons and military equipment abroad with reference to the UMP.
The current legislation of Ukraine provides for a 90-day period for consideration of applications for the issuance of permits to enterprises that export military products and dual-use goods abroad. However, due to the imperfection of the regulatory framework and the procedure of interdepartmental approval, quite often this process takes much longer (sometimes up to a year). This complicates and, as a consequence, significantly reduces the export of weapons.
At a meeting on January 15, the head of the SECU, Oleksandr Pavlichenko, said that the agency plans to introduce an electronic system for submitting and reviewing appeals of enterprises, as well as exchanging relevant information with other authorities by the end of this year.
Yuri Gusev stated that the concern is ready to provide comprehensive support for the implementation of the system.
"In our opinion, this will reduce the time of issuing permits to enterprises, which, in turn, will increase the export of weapons and military equipment to fulfill the relevant instructions of the President of Ukraine," said a resident of Ukroboronprom.
"The parties agreed to deepen cooperation in this area and to hold a joint seminar on improving the effectiveness of cooperation in the field of exports in February this year," the press service of the State Concern Ukroboronprom reports.
