Ukraine will purchase a number of military equipment directly from NATO

 

 In 2021, Ukraine will purchase sniper rifles, demining vehicles, parachute and radar systems with a reference to UMP directly from NATO.

The Department of Military-Technical Policy, Armament Development and Military Equipment of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has already placed an order.

The order concerns the purchase directly from manufacturers through the NATO Support and Supply Agency of samples of weapons of a certain range within the national defense order.

In particular, it is planned to purchase:

    37 complexes of counteraction to unmanned aerial vehicles EDM4S-UA;
    12 sets of muzzle velocity measurement system SL-520REF;
    90 sets of 8.58 × 70 (7.62 × 51) mm Barrett sniper rifles;
    2 underwater tugs;
    73 sets of spare parachute system AZ-95 series 3;
    73 sets of training parachute system AD-95 series 3;
    4 sets of parachute rescue system Towed Jumper Release System;
    1 set of radar system MFTR-2100/39;
    1 demining machine (BOZENA-5) with attachments;
    1 demining machine (BOZENA-4) with attachments.

It will be recalled that in September 2020, it became known that Polish parachute systems had been ordered for the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which would be supplied by the state special exporter Ukrspetsexport.

NATO experts are expected to provide information on the timing of the agreements in the near future.

As noted, prepayment for all ordered products is made.

They also prepare drafts of individual agreements, which must be further agreed with the relevant departments and ministries in accordance with the requirements of current legislation.

In particular, for the supply of 1 set of radar system MFTR-2100/39; 1 demining machine (BOZENA-5) with attachments and 1 demining machine (BOZENA-4) with attachments.

In addition, a foreign trade contract was concluded with a Turkish manufacturer for the supply of cartridges for a 12.7 × 99 mm sniper rifle with an armor-piercing incendiary bullet and 12.7 × 108 mm blank cartridges.
